This year’s Old Settlers’ Days Parade will have two new options available for people of all ages to come out and be part of the festivities.

There will be an Elementary School 1-mile Parade race and a 4-mile Parade race. Both races will line up and run the parade route and get to feel all the excitement of being a part of Columbia City’s very popular parade. The Elementary race will start at 5:30pm and is sure to create some serious enjoyment for spectators and participants alike. The race will take participants along the parade route down Main St. through downtown Columbia City and return them where they started. It will give participants an opportunity to experience the fun of a healthy activity, and excitement of a parade environment.

The 4-mile race will start at 6:00pm and will be the official kickoff to the to the parade. Participants will be taken down the entire parade route, allowing them to enjoy the excitement of the parade, and send runners through some beautiful Columbia City scenery, running on the Blue River trail and through Morsches Park. Awards will be given in age group categories, and a t-shirt is included with the price of the registration. Both races are fundraisers for the CCHS Cross Country program. Don’t miss your opportunity to be part of the fun, and festivities! Come out early to participate or watch the races and stay for all the parade fun!
